No, it's not. Cross stitch cloths are different. Needlepoint canvases are like nets, whereas cross stitch cloths have small holes in a grid. A cross stitch is composed of two stitches to form an "x". Here's a better explanation: answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=1006020205136.
