The clay was cut from a local river bed...as far as preparation...i can not answer this as i didnt see any preparation other than cutting the clay blocks into smaller sizes.

In some parts of Canada pottery is really popular. I help teach it in Ottawa and I know that it's really huge in PEI. You could probably find somewhere if you take a look.
